"Supuwath Arana" is an Apostolate within the Catholic Archdioceses under Most Rev. Dr. Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith Archbishop of Colombo. This institution caters to a large section of our community irrespective of their beliefs and faiths. Being a non-profit organisation all programs held by the centre are conducted free of charge.
A unique holistic formation Centre where the Body, Mind and Spirit is directed to one focus, by way of inner healing services with the Blessed Sacrament and sharing the word of God. Psycho-Spiritual and Social formation are our primary objectives through which individuals and groups are inspired to be more effective and determined persons, achieving their objectives, and goals in life.
The Centre provides guidance to School Children, Youth, Parents, Animators, Teachers, professionals and Families, to become more divine, powerful, enthusiastic and responsible, human beings. Day to day issues, youth problems, family conflicts, marriage guidance, and social problems are addressed at the centre.
Rev Fr. Darrel Coonghe was appointed as a chaplain to this Ministry in the year 2000 by the Archbishop Emeritus Rev. Dr. Nicholas Marcus Fernando. Rev. Fr. Darrel, having completed 25years of service in his Priesthood and presently in charge of this Centre as the Founder and Director. He is assisted by several voluntary groups which supports and maintains the activities of the centre. Voluntary groups formed as committees namely Finance, Technical work with the other groups namely prayer, liturgy and choir. In addition Teams which handle sounds, media and IT work on a voluntary basis in conjunction with the other groups to provide a better presentation of the weekly services conducted at the Centre.
The Finance Committee's main task is to collect funds necessary for providing of facilities and for the maintenance of the centre with voluntary contributions and donations. All funding activities are carried out under the supervision of the Director. Banking and maintaining of the accounts are also the responsibilities of this committee. The Technical committee is involved in the planning execution and the supervision of the technical facilities of the Centre. The maintenance of the same is also supervised by this team. The Choir and liturgy Team assists the Director in the Faith services that the centre holds. The team in charge of sound propagation and the Media team involved in Video recording of the Faith services and other programs which is eventually released to the world through social media by webcasting.
People from all walks of life are invited to the centre to renew their spirituality and to experience inner peace, love and tranquillity to uplift your soul.
Situated at Seeduwa on Kotugoda Road, 25km away from the capital city of Colombo Sri Lanka (1km from Seeduwa Junction towards Raddolugama), "Supuwath Arana" spans a 6½ Acre landscape, with an environment that has been created to suite the atmosphere for prayer and meditation. Open all days of the week including holidays from 7am to 7pm. Bus route 188 from Pettah (Colombo) to Raddolugama.
